We voted YES to purchase 5408 Tryon Road

Since we went under contract on 5408 Tryon Road, we’ve been in the thick of due diligence, seeking to learn as much as we can about the existing building and future possibilities. On June 29, 2025, (the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul!) we held a historic all-parish meeting. The vote overwhelmingly affirmed the purchase of the Tryon property, and Archbishop Alexander subsequently blessed the transaction. Since that time, our efforts have shifted from gathering information to planning—to line up funding, secure a lender, identify necessary repairs, and arrange for renovations that will turn a Baptist sanctuary into an Orthodox worship space.

With the new direction, we’ve suspended work on the Cornwallis project. At this moment, we’re a few weeks away from closing on the Tryon property. All evidence points to an uneventful closing no later than August 15, 2025, and we’re keeping that in our daily prayers.
